Crazy news today reported by RaceDepartment; Rockstar Games appears to be banning people for modding or using mods in the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V in any way, shape, or form. While modding has already ruined the robust online component of GTA V as far back as the game’s initial release in September of 2013, PC players are receiving permanent bans for using small user preference hacks in the offline version of the game – such as Field of View adjustments that don’t actually affect gameplay.
Of course, this means genuinely cool and fun stuff, like the car cannon, nets you a ban as well.
It’s a shame, really, as I guess the days of Grand Theft Auto being an endless sandbox of chaos are over.
