With Reiza Studios dropping the 2014 Holden Commodore on us yesterday for Game Stock Car Extreme, discussion inevitably popped up about the difficulties some are having when adapting to sitting on the right hand side of the car. Given that the real world V8 Supercars championship is contested only within the confines of the Oceania continent, it makes sense that all V8 Supercars created for simulations like rFactor or Stock Car Extreme have you sitting on the appropriate side of the cockpit.
Or does it?
Above is a hypothetical 2013 Chevrolet SS V8 Supercars Concept created by basic template and image mirroring, as the current Australian Commodore and American SS are essentially the same car. It’s not going to be a lengthy or detailed demand, but given that third party modifications to video games do not require hundreds of thousands of dollars from General Motors to build a purpose built race car, what’s stopping a mod team from mirroring the Holden Commodore model so you sit on the left side of the cockpit and slapping Chevrolet badges on it as a cool bonus?
