Will an 8th gen motherboard support 7th gen processor?
I do not have a exact answer for this question, but I will give some examples. For a 7 series CPU you need a z270 motherboard. This is a z370 series board for 8th generation CPUs. So it will not be compatible.
For 8 series CPU you need either an i7-8700K or an i7-8950HK processor. These are the most expensive CPUs in the market and require a high-end motherboard to run them properly. So if you want to buy one of these, you would need at least an i7 processor with at least two threads (i7-8700K or i7-8950HK) and memory up to 64GB on DIMM capacity (I am using 2x8GB DDR4 RAM).
