I don’t know who made it. I don’t know what version it is. I don’t know where the models came from, and I don’t even know if templates exist for it. It doesn’t have all the drivers or liveries, and it’s only functional on road courses, but I gave it a better default setup and cleaned up the useless files that didn’t need to be there.

It drives pretty well and is a solid addition to Game Stock Car Extreme. Very close to rFactor 2 in terms of how the cars handle, which is a plus because nobody plays rFactor 2 anymore. So because we have absolutely nothing to report on today, here’s this dope-ass 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series mod. If you don’t know how to install it, you’re a retard.

  1. Wow, this is a blast to drive. Just did a quick race against the AI at Interlagos and had a great time. The only quirks I noticed are the AeroMin damage setting is WAY low (was set to 550 = parts flying everywhere from the gentlest little tap) and the cockpit view is way too far forward (your face is literally pressed against the steering wheel).

    Raised the AeroMin setting to a more reasonable 2550 and changed the .cam cockpit view line “PositionOffset” from “(0.00, 0.15, -0.35)” to “(0.00, 0.15, 0.00)” and my complaints are gone.

    1. The cockpit view was my own doing – I like it that way as it works for my monitor position and all that. And tbh I think the sensitive damage is a good thing – few weeks ago in St. Petersburg we had a piece from somebody’s aero kit fly 100 yards and crack somebody’s skull so these cars by default are pretty damn fragile.

      Other than that, indeed it is a fine mod and it sucks it never got finished.

  2. It’s a model from Simraceway, as they use that driver model in many of their cars. Not surprising that it has decent physics, since they got Dario Franchitti in to give feedback on the car.

  3. So I only just discovered this, I love the look and sound but I can’t get the steering right. No matter what I seem to do my DFGT defaults to 900 degrees of rotation once I’m on track. Both game and profiler settings are set to 540 degrees, I’ve even unchecked “allow game to adjust settings” in the profiler. While in the garage the wheel is limited to 540 degrees but once I go on track it reverts to the full rotation. Really painful as it’s hard to drive having to put that much turn in.

    Any ideas how to fix it?
