FAQs

Is Kaby Lake outdated?

Intel's Kaby Lake processors are a family of high-performance desktop chips designed to meet the needs of professionals who work in a variety of industries. They feature an advanced 6-core processor with 12 virtual cores, and a new microarchitecture called Skylake that delivers improved performance across a broad range of workloads.

Intel announced its 7th Gen CPUs on October 5, 2017 and it will be discontinued as of October 2020. The 7th Gen CPUs will remain available for purchase through Intel's online and retail channels for now, but they'll likely be replaced by the next generation Kaby Lake chips from AMD (KL9) and SK Hynix (KH9).

What Intel Gen is Kaby Lake?

The seventh generation Core processor family consists of the following chips:

Kaby Lake Core i5-6GB (4C, 4G, 3.9GHz, FPU), Kaby Lake Core i7-7700K (6C, 6G, 4.2GHz, FPU), and Kaby Lake Core i9-7900X (8C, 8G).

The Kaby Lake processors are based on Intel's eighth generation microarchitecture platform and feature the same Skylake architecture as Skylake-T processors in the preceding Skylake series. The new generation of Intel microprocessors are designed to deliver increased performance per watt while maintaining reliability and durability.

What chipset is KABY?

The Intel Core i9-8950HK processor is the new desktop chip from Intel that supports Kaby Lake processors. The processor features a base clock of up to 2.8 GHz, an boost clock of up to 3.4 GHz, and a memory frequency of DDR4 2400 MHz. The processor comes with eight Cores and 12 Threads with Turbo Boost Technology enabled for maximum performance.

The Z270 chipset is designed for enthusiasts with its high-performance components and motherboards focused on delivering high performance at low price points. It includes two PCIe 3 x16 lanes, one PCIe 2 x16 lane, one PCI Express 2 port, four USB 3 ports (one on the front panel), two USB 2 ports (one on the rear panel), one HDMI port and three LAN connectors (one in each direction). It also includes four MPC digital audio jacks which can be used for headphones or speakers through the built-in speaker system or via a pair of headphones that are connected via Jack 1/1 only through the speaker system jack 1/1 only through JYZ2 jack 1/2 only through JZ2A jack 1/3 only through JYZ3 jack 1/4 only through JYZ5 Jack 1/6 only through JYZ7 Jack 1/8 but not using it all)

The H270 chipset is designed for gamers who want high performance at low price points without having to spend a lot of money on gaming hardware or peripherals as they don't need any additional components like fans or power supplies. It features dual DMI3 DIN ports along with onboard GPU technology which provides smooth gaming acceleration across all games at best settings in Full HD resolution without any graphical artifacts present in game environments due to its highly transparent design allowing users to easily monitor their graphics card's temperature inside their computer even when playing games that require more CPU resources such as Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare where thermals are more prominent than before due to higher density cards being required in this game mode so H270 offers great performance at lower prices compared to non-H270 motherboards!
